WGS Testing Under Way

    •

Pilot clubs, referees and county administration staff in Cornwall take on testing of online referee registrations, referee reporting and club affiliations.

Cornwall FA is one of twelve pilot counties for The FA’s Whole Game System, a revolutionary football administration portal currently under development that aims to incorporate over 25 FA systems into a single one-stop portal with 24/7 online access, which will have huge benefits for everyone involved in football administration around the country.

Members of Bodmin Youth, Morwenstow, Saltash United and St. Agnes attended a workshop for pilot clubs at the county office on Tuesday evening, getting a first glance at the system in preparation for the testing of online club affiliations, with Truro City due to join the pool of testing clubs today.

In addition an online Referee Reporting module is currently under development by the WGS team, which will dramatically improve the efficiency of processing referee discipline reports. Cornish referees James Gallagher, Paul Murphy, Rodney Campbell, Ryan Cornelius, Matthew Arthur and Sam Mills will be supported by members of the WGS RDO Working Group and will shortly start testing Portal functionality, whilst County staff within the discipline team will test the back-office processes of the system.

Cornwall FA Senior Administrator Jo Small:  “It is a really exciting opportunity for Cornish football to be at the forefront of this development and I believe the pilot is a true reflection of the Association’s drive for modernisation."

"We are extremely grateful for the time and effort the pilot clubs and referees are investing into this project, as it is vital that we thoroughly test these processes end-to-end with real data, club secretaries and referees, to ensure that they are fully fit for purpose before any of the live functions can be launched."

Of course, the work will not stop there. Plans are already in place for the delivery of online League Sanctioning along with a whole raft of important discipline modules which will require extensive testing. Further details regarding live launches of modules will follow in due course and Cornwall FA would like to thank all involved for their continued patience and support.
