Wendron United U18s win Bartlett Trophy

    •

A 5-3 win against St. Dennis secures the title for Wendron in an exciting final.

The Cornwall U18s Percy Bartlett Memorial Trophy traditionally sees the strongest U18 squads in Cornwall compete against each other, as the U18 Rathbone Trophy Winners take on the Cornwall League Winners.

This year's edition lived up to the expectations, with both teams competing having only recently played against each other in the Rathbone Trophy Final: St. Dennis on the day proved the stronger team, winning 4-1 and claiming the title.

But this Sunday afternoon the match at Mount Wise in Newquay took a very different turn: Goals by Andrew Bowden, Ed Wilton, Kyle Frazer and Ross Symonds (2) put Wendron 5-3 ahead against St. Dennis and ensured that the U18 Cornwall League winners also emerged as proud winners of the 2012-2013 Bartlett Trophy!
