As part of the Cornwall FA Coach Development Programme, The Fundamentals of Coaching 2 Part Series is a welcomed addition which will explore how to create a positive and engaging coaching environment as well as how to develop observational skills to help develop more skilful players. The 2-part nature of the series will bring to life linked themes across two different age groups at the Cornwall Girls Advanced Development and Emerging Talent Centre.

The workshops will be delivered by Cornwall Emerging Talent Centre Player Development Lead Vicky Fisher and FA Womens High Performance Coach Developer Tash Mills who will both share their vast experience and expertise with the grassroots coaches in attendance.

The Fundamentals of coaching Part 2 - Developing the player

  • When: Friday 10th February 2023
  • Where: Brannel School, Rectory Rd, St Stephen, Saint Austell PL26 7RN
  • Timings: 6:30pm to 8:30pm

Part 2 of this series will further build on the first event, continuing theme of creating a positive environment as well as helping coaches to understand how they can further impact the needs of individuals within coaching session. To do this, Vicky and Tash will use an older age group (either U14 or U16) to focus on helping coaches develop their observational skills to help allow coaches to notice skills within practice and link these to the types of interventions coaches may use to positively impact player learning.
