Cornwall FA were delighted to welcome teams from across the County to Bodmin Leisure Centre to compete in the second weekend of Pokémon Futsal Cup County Qualifiers.
The second weekend of County Qualifiers saw the Boys/mixed U14s and U16s as well as Girls U10s and U14s competitions take place.
The winners from the weekend qualifiers progress to a Regional Tournament at the University of Wolverhampton and then the National Finals in Spring 2022.
Cornwall FA Football Development Officer Joshua Stockdale added, "it was brilliant to see so many local grassroots players across the weekend playing futsal, displaying a great range of skilful moments with some fantastic individual and team goals. Futsal is great development tool for players as the fast-paced nature of the game encourages quick, skilful play and thinking ahead both in and out of possession and this was clear to see over the weekend. Most of all, it's great fun too!
We hope as more local players and clubs experience futsal through competitions such as this, more will try to incorporate futsal into their seasonal training as a way of providing additional experiences for their players especially during the wet weather periods".
