Cornwall FA is delighted to announce that Joe Hocking has joined the Association as a Football Services Apprentice and will now support the Football Services Team with all initiatives and administration.
Growing up in Cornwall, Joe has always had a passion for football playing for both St Tudy and Camelford youth teams. In recent years Joe started to expand his football commitments, volunteering as a coach for Camelford Football Club where he has helped to develop the football offering available to local youth players.
As part of this process, Joe was nominated and consequently awarded with the Rising Star Grassroots Award for the 2019/20 season. The Rising Star Award recognises those under 25 who have made a significant contribution to their local community and you can find out more information about Joe’s achievement here.
Joe added, “as someone that has always been passionate about football this apprenticeship has provided the perfect opportunity for me to get further involved in the local football community and purse a career in football.
The opportunity to work for Cornwall FA is a very exciting to me and I am keen to give it my all. I have involved with different football opportunities helping coach with the various youth age groups at Camelford over the last 3 years and as well as playing for St.Teath FC for the last 2 years as well.
I hope that this apprenticeship will help me to continue growing in my roles in local football”.
