Cornwall FA are delighted to share that a new cohort of referees have been trained and are now qualified thanks to the delivery of a referee course at Hayle AFC.
Thanks to generous donations from several of our affiliated Leagues we are able to offer the Referee Course for just £30 and the course recently delivery at Hayle AFC was the first course to utilise this funding. The course saw 18 new referees develop their knowledge around the role a referee, the laws of the game and game management.
Lee Swabey (Cornwall FA Referee Development Officer) added, “it’s great to see new people taking their 1st steps into refereeing and grasping the opportunity to train at an extremely discounted rate thanks to generous donations from local leagues.
With a referee shortage across the country and in Cornwall, we are extremely grateful to our current referees who help keep the game going and being able to introduce new referees into this group is always welcomed.
Cornwall FA would also like to thank Hayle AFC for hosting the course and allowing us to train this new group of referees”.
Without referees, we wouldn’t have a game so if you are interested in becoming a referee please get in touch with firstname.lastname@example.org or find out more information by clicking here.
