Girls' Football is Growing across Cornwall

With teams starting from U8 there are now more opportunities than ever for youth female players to get involved with football.

From mini-soccer for those taking their first kick of a ball to teams for girls looking for regular football and kickabouts for those that don't want the commitment of every weekend our aim is to offer football for everyone.

The Cornwall Girls League adopts a flexible approach to the game allowing flexibility in formats to ensure as many girls are participating in football every weekend.

Throughout the winter months the Girls League hosts 6 weeks of Futsal which is played indoors to ensure that all players are keeping engaged in sport even when the weather is bad.

In the summer the League hosts its Annual Beach Soccer Tournament on Perranporth Beach in early September, each year this sees hundred of young players and their families come along for the day to take part in a form of football which celebrates Cornwall!

FAQs

There are two ways to find out where your nearest team is, firstly you can contact the Cornwall Girls League using the details further down the page or you can use the Find Football tool which will automatically find your nearest club. If neither of these work you can also contact us using the details to the right.

The FA Wildcats Centres are a perfect introduction for new players to the game and any player aged 5-11 can join these relaxed, female only sessions. To find out more about Wildcats click here.

If you think your daughter is doing well in her club, speak to her coach about putting her forward for a trial at the Girls ACC, we would need a nomination from her club coach, once we receive the nomination we can explore the possibility of a 3 week training session trial at the ACC or wait until the next trials are taking place.

girls' ETC

The Cornwall FA Girls' Emerging Talent Centre is a player development centre which supports talented female players across Cornwall. With highly qualified coaches and fantastic training and playing facilities it is the perfect opportunity for talented players to get involved.

The ETC was introduced in 2022/23 as part of The FA's plan to more than double the talent pool for the women's professional game. Previously named the Cornwall Girls' Advanced Coaching Centre, it provides talented female players throughout Cornwall and its surrounding areas with weekly additional training and fixtures, whilst still playing for their grassroots club.
