Falmouth DC

Silverware for Illogan RBL, Falmouth DC and Tremough

The three sides came out on top in their respective finals and got their hands on a trophy at the end of a great season.

Falmouth-based clubs have enjoyed a fine season in the Cornwall County Cups, taking home trophies on back-to-back weekends before Illogan RBL came out on top in the Intermediate Cup.

First, Tremough lifted the 2022/23 Bluefin Sunday Cup thanks to a narrow 1-0 win over league rivals Royal Par, sealed with a stunning chip to win the game. The achievement caps a fine season for Tremough who have won all of their matches in the Cornwall Sunday League at the time of writing.

Falmouth DC then faced Dropship in the final of the Cornwall Junior Cup. An early red card after just seven minutes didn’t hold DC back as they scored a goal in either half to notch a 2-0 win and take home the trophy.

Finally, it was the turn of the Intermediate Cup final as Illogan RBL faced St Dominick at Bodieve Park. The game remained goalless for the vast majority before Illogan finally found a way through with a little under 15 minutes to play. The lone goal was enough to record a victory and get their hands on the trophy.

Congratulations to the winners of all of our County Cups so far this season – Illogan RBL, Falmouth DC and Tremough join Helston Athletic (Senior Cup) and Liskeard Athletic (Women’s Cup) on the roll of honour.

A big thank you to all the clubs that have hosted our cup competitions this year, and to all the volunteers who have helped make the games happen!
