Womens recreational football centre in Truro set to launch next week

The centre will launch on Wednesday 9th February 2022.

Cornwall FA are delighted to share the details of a new women’s only recreational football centre based in Truro which will run over a 16-week period.

The recreational football centre is completely free to attend and has been set up after Cornwall FA secured funding from Sport England to try to increase participation levels within women’s football.

The turn up and play nature of the recreational football centre aims to engage women aged 18 and above in fun, friendly and sociable football sessions without the pressure or commitment that may be associated with traditional forms of open age football.

The centre in Truro is the first to launch next Wednesday 9th February and all the details can be found below:

Day: Wednesdays (first session starts 9th February)

Time: 19:00 to 20:00

Who: Women aged 18 and above who are looking to engage with football in a fun, friendly and inclusive environment.

Where: Truro Preparatory School, Treliske Lane, Truro, TR1 3QN

Cost: FREE to attend

Cornwall FA Womens, Girls and Disability Officer Andrew Heapy added, “as a County FA we are delighted to get our first women’s only recreational football centre up and running next week. This centre will hopefully be the first of many new centres introduced across the county to help provide opportunities for women to engage in fun and friendly football sessions”.
