Cornwall FA Achieve Safeguarding 365 Standard

Cornwall FA achieve Safeguarding 365 standard for the 2022/23 season.

Cornwall FA undertake an annual safeguarding assessment through their responsibilities of overseeing grassroots football within the county. This year, the Safeguarding 365 Standard assessed the organisation’s internal safeguarding processes as well as the safeguarding engagement with the grassroots football community to make football safe for everyone in Cornwall.

Safeguarding 365 is to ensure safeguarding measures and processes are in place in every County FA.  It sets out a framework for the consistent delivery of safeguarding across grassroots football to ensure every child, young person and adult at risk are safeguarded when playing football.  The Standard is aligned with the Grassroots Football Strategy and is unpinned by government guidance and aligned to the Sport England/NSPCC national standards for safeguarding and protecting children in sport.

Cornwall FA’s Designated Safeguarding Officer Claire Summers-Evans said, “We are delighted to have achieved this year’s Safeguarding 365 Standard, a vital component of the work we carry out at Cornwall FA. Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility, and we are continually working internally and externally to provide the safest opportunities for people in Cornwall to participate in football within Cornwall”.
