Flexi-League is back
Cornwall FA offers a host of different football opportunities for the Cornish football family to participate within, one of which being flexi-football with leagues operating in the East and West of the county.
This week we saw the restart of the Callywith Flexi-League with Looe Town, Lanivet, Polzeath, Polperro, Lostwithiel and AFC Bodmin all playing their 1st game of the season.
The nature of the Flexi-League offers a non-traditional approach to the beautiful games with teams playing bi-weekly fixtures on high quality, floodlight 3G pitches such as Callywith College. The Flexi-League aims to provide opportunities for individuals to develop their football skills, increase fitness levels and enjoy football in a fun and friendly environment.
Cornwall FA Football Development Officer Joshua Stockdale attended the opening fixtures and said, “it was great to welcome new teams to the Callywith Flexi-League this season as well as those returning from last season.
The first few games have been great with the flexible format providing opportunities for a range of players to continue playing football around their work/life commitments.
It's great to have a mix of teams helping to develop their younger players to support the transition to adult football but also teams who are using the Flexi-League as a way to participate in the game they love with their friends”.
