Andrew Heapy joins Cornwall FA as Womens, Girls and Disability Football Development Officer.

Cornwall FA are delighted to welcome Andrew Heapy to the association as part of the Football Development team, overseeing the Womens, Girls and Disability remit.

Andrew graduated with a BA (Hons) Degree in Sports Coaching Science and Development from the University of Worcester whilst coaching for a number of different football academy's including West Bromwich Albion and Cheltenham Town FC where he helped to develop footballers through the player development centres. After graduating from university, Andrew ventured to America to coach and run soccer camps whilst coaching for several teams which had close links with the MLS. 

Since Andrew's return from the states, he became a health advisor and community coach in the West Midlands. This role enabled him to facilitate events in sport and disability as well as work closely with primary school staff  through PE specific CPD and coaching. 

Andrew is also a Level 4 referee and can be often found officiating games across the South of England on both the Women’s and Men’s Pathway.

Andrew added, “I am passionate about football and want to make sure that everyone has a positive experience during their football journey. I’m really looking forward to supporting grassroot football in Cornwall”.
