Cornwall FA were delighted to visit Tregorrick Youth Football Club to present the Grounds Team of the Year Award as part of the FA and McDonald’s Grassroots Awards 2021.

The Grounds Team of the Year Award recognises grounds teams who work tirelessly to keep the pitches match-ready all year round. These people are the ones who make sure the club pitch, environment and facilities are always safe and good to go.

Tregorrick Youth’s grounds team of Gavin McAuley and David Sweet take great pride in maintaining the club’s facilities, giving up numerous hours each week to carry out their roles. They have been recognised for the fantastic condition they have kept the club’s pitches in, allowing their youth players to enjoy playing their football matches on a regular basis despite the weather issues present within a footballing season. Alongside this, they have also made efforts to further develop the facilities at the club through different funding grants to ensure the pitches are well maintained.
