The Cornwall Disability League held its 3rd Festival of the season on Sunday 14th November as 8 teams took to the 3G Pitch at Camborne College.
The League operates Two Divisions, Championship and League, and each team plays each other once across the day, we also have a growing youth Division so the league really is inclusive to all ages.
The games in the Championship were highly competitive, as they always are, with teams desperate to come out on top, however the competitive edge is always accompanied with plenty of respect and sportsmanship from all the players. The games in The League competition still have the same desire but is played in more relaxed/participation manner so there really is a chance for all abilities to participate.
At half time during the second games there was an impeccably observed 2 minutes silence for remembrance day led by our Referees Paul Minns and Simon Coxhead.
The Coaches of the respective teams have got their teams playing some lovely football, and it is joy to watch the development of the players, especially as several are only just coming back to football after the COVID enforced break. The league and its teams are looking to grow even more and start building on the solid foundations that are in place.
The League is well run with a dedicated hard working committee, the coaches of the teams are all FA Qualified and provide a safe and fun environment for players to develop their football skills on the pitch whilst building friendships off the pitch.
If you or anyone you know would be interested in joining the league or training with any of our teams then please see contacts below and feel free to call for a chat and we can sign post you to a team, or indeed help set up a team to attend our monthly festivals.
