Simon Long Elected as Cornwall FA Referee Representative

Simon Long has been elected by referees in Cornwall to be their new Referee Representative

Simon Long, Premier League Assistant Referee, has been elected by referees in Cornwall to be their new Referee Representative on Cornwall FA’s Football Management Board.

Simon LongIn his new role, which offers an additional support framework to all referees in the county, Simon will be supporting the work of Referee Development Officer, Lee Swabey, and providing an independent voice on behalf of referees on the Football Management Board of the County FA.

Dawn Aberdeen, Cornwall FA Chief Executive, said: “We are delighted that Simon has offered his time to working with the County FA and supporting all aspects of refereeing in the county. His knowledge and professionalism can only stand to enhance the great work that is already being undertaken by our refereeing department and volunteer workforce to continually raise and improve standards and we look forward to him starting this role with us shortly.

“We would also like to thank Dave Dodson for his time in this role and his commitment to supporting our referee family in recent years.”

“Moving forward, I look forward to working with all of our refereeing family and the wider grassroots football community to ensure that all of our referees, whatever their level or aspirations, have access to the help and support they require to achieve everything they want from refereeing, whilst providing an excellent service to all of our affiliated clubs and competitions.”
