Welcome To The Team, George!

GEORGE ROBERTS JOINS CORNWALL FA AS JUNIOR FOOTBALL DEVELOPMENT OFFICER

Cornwall FA is delighted to announce that George Roberts has joined the Association as Junior Football Development Officer, and will now support the Development Team with all initiatives, administration and local football programmes.
Born and raised in Truro, George has experienced football from both a playing, coaching and development perspective. Whilst studying on a local post 16 education program with Argyle Community Trust, he was able to start coaching within their community and schools programmes.

During this time, George acquired the FA Level 2 and started coaching within local centre of excellence programmes which only furthered his passion for football further. Alongside this, George also represented the Cornwall FA U18 Representative Squad, managed by Glynn Hooper.

After post 16 studies, George progressed to Plymouth Marjon University to study a Football Development and Coaching degree, where he continued his community coaching and took opportunities to engage in the theory attached to football development.

During his final year, George was able to attain the UEFA B coaching qualification after working with a local youth team, and attain a full-time role with Argyle Community Trust.

After graduating, he continued his role with Argyle Community Trust and started coaching regularly with Plymouth Argyle Academy. He has since been assigned as Plymouth Argyle U13s assistant coach and is now looking forward to contributing to the provisions and support provided to the grassroots football community in Cornwall.
