Heart-warming Success Story From Charlestown Youth FC

GUEST POST FROM CHARLESTOWN YOUTH FC

Cornwall FA is proud to share the following message, provided by Charlestown FC.

“We thought we'd share an amazing story that started at the Wildcats sessions we were running before Christmas.

An amazing young lady called Jessica started at the Wildcats Centre and now is a constant participant at our new girls-only mini soccer.

Just before Christmas Jessica came up to football as usual but had a super proud look on her face.

After asking why she seemed even happier than usual (she is always happy regardless of the weather or what new challenge she faces during training) we found out that Jessica had been awarded a Blue Peter Badge, which she proudly showed us all.

So, why would I post Jess getting this badge? Well, it turns out that she sent a letter to Blue Peter telling the story of her journey from being really reluctant to try football for the first time to loving it and she now cannot wait to put her boots on.

As a club we always try to create a pressure-free, fun atmosphere that allows the kids to enjoy football at their pace and for their own reasons, and the story of Jess is a shining example of how our ethos is benefiting the young people we work with.”

If you feel inspired by Jessica’s story, visit the Wildcats page on our website and get your daughter involved! There are plenty of Wildcats sessions running throughout the county, providing the perfect introduction to football for girls aged 5-11.
