Cornwall Charity Cup Quarter Finals
CORNWALL CHARITY CUP QUARTER FINALS TO TAKE PLACE THIS WEEK
The quarter finals of the Cornwall FA Charity Cup take place on Tuesday 26 and Wednesday 27 November, with all fixtures in this year’s competition supporting the Merlin MS Centre.
On Tuesday 26 November, Falmouth Town face Penzance in the last eight whilst Newquay and Launceston go head-to-head with a semi-final place at stake. Mousehole are also in action on Tuesday, taking on Helston Athletic.
A day later on Wednesday 27 November, Saltash Utd host Godolphin Atlantic Newquay, with all games scheduled to kick off at 7.30pm.
Each year Cornwall FA chooses a worthy local charity to benefit from this 16 team invitee only competition and this year’s chosen charity is The Merlin MS Centre.
The Merlin MS Centre, formally the Merlin Project, was founded in 2001 by Derek Murphy, a retired Medical Doctor, and his wife Eileen.
The Centre provides affordable therapies and support for anyone in Cornwall living with a long-term neurological condition to improve their health and well-being and to help reduce isolation and loneliness.
They provide financial support for those whose lives are affected by Multiple Sclerosis (MS) in the way of subsidies and grants, and other conditions they support include Stroke, Parkinson's, ME, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) and Fibromyalgia.
