SAD LOSS OF TERRY WILLIAMS FORMER LONG TERM CORNWALL FA BOARD AND COUNCIL MEMBER
Terry gave over 40 years of outstanding and generous service to Cornwall FA following his election as a Member of Council in 1973, although his true commitment and involvement with the county stemmed back many years prior to that.
Terry was also one of the founding Directors of Cornwall FA when it was incorporated as a Private Limited Company in July 2000 and remained a Member of the Board until June 2013 when he retired.
He historically maintained thousands of manual affiliation records, county cup player registrations and reinstatements on an annual basis, all prior to computerisation. He also had valued involvement in many committees over the years including discipline, rules revision and cup committee.
Terry was a real gentleman and gave a large part of his life to supporting football in Cornwall in different capacities as a volunteer; he was a major component in the backbone of the County FA that enabled us to build the Association into a stronger entity as we moved forward.
Terry became a ‘Life Member’ of the Association in October 2013 and was recognised and awarded the Cornwall Sports Awards ‘Lifetime Services to Sport’ later in the same year.
