UPDATEd 07/10/19: Date for Next Groundsman Support Event Confirmed

The Groundsman Support Event/Evening has now moved due to companies not being able to attend and then the poor light and weather moving in as well.

We have rearranged this date for Monday 23rd March 2020 at St Day FC so that clubs can work on their pitch for next year.

“Due to a number of reasons Cornwall FA are postponing the groundsman support evening (event) on Wednesday 4th of September at St Day FC.

We have provisionally booked Monday 28th October at St Day FC from 6pm - 9pm, this will be advertised as soon as possible along with a new electric register.

 Apologies for any inconvenience caused.”


We are welcoming grounds staff and club volunteers from around Cornwall to attend our 'Groundsman Support Event' taking place on Wednesday 4th September from 6pm-9pm at St Day AFC.

On the evening there will be a number of different professionals in attendance, covering the need-to-know information on how to maintain your pitch for the upcoming season.

Daniel Greenough, Senior Development Officer at Cornwall FA will welcome the attendees and provide information about grant funding and support available for clubs. 

IOG Pitch Advisor, Simon Johnson will talk about how to deliver the best pitch you can for your budget. He’ll have top tips on general maintenance to improve pitches and tell you all about the Pitch Improvement Programme.

We will also be joined by Neil Baker from Rigby Taylor, he will be sharing information on line marking, paint, fertiliser and grass seed. 

Finally, Curtis Allen from Charterhouse  will discuss turf machinery, the products they have available and how they can benefit your club.
