Female Game CPD Event November 2018

Girls ACC Hosts CPD for Grassroots Coaches

The latest ‘Female Game’ CPD event took place on Friday 16th November. It was hosted by the Girls ACC (Advanced Coaching Centre) at Brannel School and was focused on coaching the ‘female’ player. Discussions inside the classroom focused on the girls talent pathway and the link to grassroots coaching sessions in which coaches considered how the sessions link to the England DNA and gained an insight into the technical programme that the ACC follows.

Coaches observed a session delivered to the U16s using the FA Coaching Fundamentals as an observational tool. Back inside the classroom coaches shared their observations based on the specific fundamental that they were watching. The event was attended by 14 coaches from 8 different clubs. It’s fantastic to see coaches giving up their time to develop their knowledge to be able to help the players that they work with.

The ‘Female Game’ CPD programme has been developed in conjunction with coaches in Cornwall and events have been shaped around coaches feedback. The next event will take place on Monday 17th December at the Cornwall FA HQ in Bodmin and will involve a programme review and some guidance on programme design along with a festive twist of mince pies. There is also a Futsal CPD event open to all coaches in Cornwall taking place at Newquay Tretherras School on Tuesday November 27th.
