Cornwall disAbility League Charter Standard Presentation

Cornwall disAbility League celebrate Charter Standard Achievement

On Sunday 11th November the Cornwall disAbility League were rewarded for all their hard work with the presentation of their Charter Standard League Award.

The league offers inclusive playing opportunities for players who may not get those opportunities to play in a safe, fun and inclusive environment within mainstream football. The league caters for both adult and youth players with the adults competing in two ability based leagues.

Achieving the Charter Standard award recognises the great work that the league committee and club volunteers put in each and every week to ensure the league operates. It has implemented a development plan to ensure the league continues to sustain its current activity and grow over the coming seasons. Included within the development plan the league recognises the importance of volunteers and has already hosted a well-supported disability specific ‘step into football’ course with future CPD events planned for next year with the support of the FA Coach Mentor Team.

The presentation took place at the start of the monthly league fixtures which during the winter months are held within the dome at Newquay Treviglas ensuring the games are still played even if the weather is bad. Geoff Lee, chairman of Cornwall FA was delighted to be able to present the league with the award and the players were equally as excited to be able to show off their footballing skills to him.

Cornwall FA look forward to continuing to support the Cornwall disAbility League over the future seasons!
