Local club benefits from funding scheme grant
On Saturday 27th October Cornwall FA were delighted to visit local club, Lanner FC to see first hand how the money they received from the 'Small Club Grant Scheme' earlier this summer had impacted the club. They were awarded a grant of £235 after their successful application which was then used to purchase new goal nets, corner flags and carry out some essential maintenance on their pitch.
A cheque was presented to club Secretary Alan Smith, Manager Adam and the team by CCFA Council Members David James and Gerald Munden before their Junior Cup 2nd Round Game against Threemilestone in which they sadly went on to lose 0-5. Club Secretary Alan said this; 'The grant has helped us by providing new goal nets & flags for the pitch . Also it has enabled us to carry out some pitch maintenance work which hopefully will improve the drainage problem.'
The scheme has already helped a number of clubs around the County, we will be bringing you a different club each month to showcase the benefits of the scheme!
