Futsal
Futsal is the FIFA game adopted by The FA. It’s the small-sided game, but not as we know it. The name simply combines the Spanish words for ‘Hall’ – Sala and ‘Football’ – Futbol into Futsal. It is a five-a-side game, normally played on a slightly larger pitch with hockey sized goals and a smaller ball with a reduced bounce. It is played to touchlines and all players are free to enter the penalty area and play the ball over head height. Players are constantly placed in situations where they must receive or play whilst under pressure or in confined spaces. As a game it places considerable demand on technique, movement, tactical awareness and fitness.

Final
Truro City (Whites) 1 Liskeard 2 aet (1-1 at normal time) Liskeard went on to represent Cornwall at the Regional Competition in Paignton Devon.
2013 County Girls Futsal Cup at Truro College saw over 100 Girls Compete.
On Saturday 20th April 2013 Girls played in the U10's,U12's & U14's competition for the first time to compliment the 3 year old U16 Cup.
An eventful day saw Illogan and Newquay Whites reach the final from their group in the Under 10's. The final was very close with a draw being the outcome. Illogan won the Cup having scored the most Goals in the group stage, 5 to Newquay's 4. The Under 12's was an interesting group with the three competing teams playing each other twice after a late withdrawal from Newquay. Liskeard, Illogan and Wadebridge were all evenly matched with Illogan and Wadebridge winning through to play in the final. Illogan eventually won out winning the clubs second Cup of the day. The Under 14's competition had 5 entries fromm Grasshoppers, Illogan, Liskeard, Wadebridge and Newquay demonstrating the strength of Girls football at this age group. The last group game was delayed by an hour and a half due to the unfortunate injury of a player in the Under 16's competition. Illogan were waiting in the final for either Grasshoppers or Newquay who they had to play in the last group game. This went ahead with Newquay winning the game to set up a Final with Illogan. The Game was end to end and full of quality after the players experienced the long delays. Newquay equalise late to even the score at 2-2 and take the final to dreaded penalties. Both teams converted to take it to sudden death. Newquay scored the winner to become County Champions. The Under 16's unfortunately produced a hollow victory for Liskeard as the game was abondoned
due to an injury to the Grasshoppers Goalkeeper with the score at 1-0 to Liskeard. The two previous games in their group were drawn.
Illogan 10's, Illogan 12's, Newquay 14's and Liskeard 16's (Pictures below) will represent Cornwall at the Regional event on Saturday 25th May at the Futsal Arena in Swindon. Cornwall FA wish all the teams the best in the Regional Competition.
