The Skilful Player Penryn

Cornwall FA delivers The Skilful Player Part 2 in Penryn

We welcomed Plymouth Argyle coaches to west Cornwall where they delivered an insightful session for local coaches.

Cornwall FA's latest Coach Development event took place in Penryn on Tuesday, 25th April.

Lee Hodge (Argyle Head of Academy Coaching for the U7 to U13) was joined by Daniel Thompson (Youth Development Phase Lead) to deliver this Coach Development event. The session took a closer look at techniques for turning and dribbling and how the coaches can better develop their players’ skills in these areas. The coaches worked with youngsters from the Argyle academy to demonstrate their ideas in practice.

We hope that all the coaches in attendance enjoyed the session and are looking forward to implementing the ideas in their own sessions. You can continue your journey as a coach by booking onto another of our upcoming events, the next of which will focus on the Match Day Experience in Penzance and Saltash.

Alternatively you can use the raft of great resources available from England Football Learning to continue your development (see below).

“We are really grateful to both Lee and Daniel for heading down to Cornwall to lead on this event – Argyle’s continued support is much appreciated,” said Matt Liddle, Marketing & Communications Officer for Cornwall FA. “We are committed to delivering quality coach education and it is great to see our coaches taking advantage of the opportunities on offer.”

Cornwall FA would also like to thank Penryn College for their help in hosting this event.
