Stepping Over The Sidelines weekend to be held in July

Cornwall FA will hold two introductory workshops for women and girls looking to get involved in football.

“I don’t know the rules.” “I’ve never played football.” If these thoughts or similar are holding you back from getting involved in football, Cornwall FA is keen to help.

Stepping Over The Sidelines is an introductory workshop for women and girls of all ages and backgrounds who would like to get into volunteering or coaching football. Cornwall FA is pleased to announce that it will be delivering this workshop twice across the first weekend of July.

The session aims to break down some of the barriers stopping women from getting involved in the game. We will look at skills and attributes that individuals may already hold which can be transferable to coaching football. It is also hoped that the workshop will inspire females by highlighting other positive role models who are influencing change within the game.

Finally, the workshop gives a flavour of the prospective next steps, including the EE Playmaker by England Football and the Introduction to Coaching Football course. It is the perfect opportunity for clubs to engage their parents, players and increase their female volunteer base.
