Cornwall FA are delighted to welcome expression of interests for the new U23’s Male Flexi-League which is due to launch in September. 

The new league has been introduced to help develop the playing opportunities within the male pathway for Cornish Football. The league aims to provide an opportunity for younger players, who may not be involved in traditional open leagues or want to stay involved in the game and continue playing regular football throughout the season.

The flexible format of the league is reflective of the open age Flexi-Leagues operating in the East and West of the County. Fixtures will be played on brilliant floodlit 3G pitches and teams will typically play games every fortnight to fit in and around busy lifestyles and work.

The League will operate across 2 phases. Phase 1 will run from the end of September/start of October to December 2022 and Phase 2 will operate from late January 2023 to May 2023.

League Details:

When: Monday evenings.

Where: Hayle AFC on a Floodlit 3G Pitch.

Timings: Fixtures will kick off at 7:15pm or 8:45pm.

Playing Format: 11v11 games (30-minute halves with 5-minute half time break).

League Format: The league will run over two phases, with Phase 1 running from the end of September to December 2022 and Phase 2 running from January 2023 to March/April 2023. Teams to play fixtures in flexi-league format (typically every 2 weeks).

Cost: There will be a cost for entering a team however this will be kept as minimal as possible to make the league as accessible as possible and will aim to run in line with other Flexi-League provision.

The current Penwith Flexi-League for open age football has been a great success over recent years, allowing hundreds of players to continue playing football flexibly, in and around busy lifestyles and work commitments, and we believe this new U23’s league will provide a great steppingstone for younger players to transition into the Penwith Flexi-League and or open age football”.
