New Era for Cornwall FA

Over the past six months Cornwall FA has undergone a number of big changes to help improve the service we offer to our customers across Cornwall. We are delighted to announce that two of the existing staff members have been successful in taking on new, exciting roles within the organisation.

Claire Summers-Evans who has been working within the Governance department has now been appointed the ‘Designated Safeguarding Officer’; she will work alongside Richard Pallot the Governance Manager & Safeguarding Lead Officer to support the on-going developments within Safeguarding and Welfare at The FA. Claire will continue to work on governance matters on Tuesday’s and Friday’s but will focus on her new role on Monday’s, Wednesday’s and Thursday’s. Claire said “I am delighted to have been given an opportunity to work in the new role as the Designated Safeguarding and Governance Officer for Cornwall football Association.  I have worked for the Governance Department for the past three years and I am now looking forward to working with the Club Welfare Officers to ensure that all of our youth players continue to enjoy playing football in a safe environment”.

Grace Dent has also moved into the new ‘Marketing and Communications’ Role after coming through a strong field of candidates which applied for the position. She will work to make big steps to improving the image of Cornwall FA within grassroots football within the County. Here’s her thoughts on the new position “I am excited to take on a new challenge at Cornwall FA, over the last 5 years I have been fortunate to get to know a lot of people within the football community and will be looking forward to working with them in a different area of the organisation! Marketing & Communications is such a big area of any business and this is a brilliant opportunity to help Cornwall FA move forwards!”

Dawn Aberdeen, Chief Executive of Cornwall FA has said:

“Following an unsettling period in undertaking our workforce review over recent months we are delighted to promote and welcome both Claire and Grace into new roles within the County FA. Claire into an incredibly important role as Designated Safeguarding Officer a role I know she will undertake with great professionalism and care and Grace into a new role for the County FA as Marketing and Communications Officer having excelled through an extremely strong pool of applicants for the role.  Having also recently recruited and secured Stuart Kane as Referee Workforce Officer we look forward to this new era for the County FA and wish them the very best in their new challenging roles”.
