Penzance AFC Disability Celebrate £1,000 Donation

Penzance Ability Counts FC (Adult & Youth) were nominated to receive funding for £1000 for the fantastic work they have been doing recently!

On Monday 27th November, Disability Development Officer Warren Parker and John Mead, Council Member attended Penzance AFC Disability's training session at Mounts Bay School to speak to the people behind the hard work and the players who benefit from the sessions. They were joined by Jack Warwick from Falmouth University who took pictures and videos on the night, this was a great opportunity for the club to have someone to capture the work they are doing and memories from the award presentation.

The award was made via Cornwall FA & the FA Community Shield Distribution Fund for Disability Football. Cornwall FA awarded the money due to the brilliant work undertaken by both the Adult and Youth Disability sections of the club delivering on the following criteria:-

• The club created an outreach programme to engage with the wider community.

• Has engaged with groups who are typically hard to reach and provided recreational football opportunities.

• Has increased its community presence and worked hard to make the football club the heart of the local community.

On the night the cheque for £1,000 was presented to key members from the club, take a look at the pictures and watch our video with some highlights and interviews. A huge congratulations to all at Penzance AFC Disability.

A big thanks to Jack for taking time out to attend the presentation and for the time to put together the video and pictures.
