Primary Stars Lead Delivery Officer

ARGYLE Community Trust is looking to recruit Primary Stars Lead Delivery staff for a fantastic nationwide scheme being led by the Premier League. The main purpose of the role is to contribute to the delivery of Plymouth Argyle FC Primary Stars, part of the Premier League’s flagship schools programme.

The Trust requires a talented coach with proven knowledge and experience of working in a sports development and education environment to co-ordinate and deliver the Trust’s Premier League Primary Stars programme within East and North Cornwall. The post holder will work with the Assistant Scheme Manager and School and Participation Officer in delivering the overall strategic direction of the Sports Participation Development Plan.

The primary focus will be to co-ordinate and deliver high quality PE and school sport within schools with a focus on up-skilling teaching and support staff to provide a lasting legacy and ensure that schools are confident and comfortable in providing young people with high quality PE and school sport provision. The post holder will also deliver a number of curriculum based projects that are focussed around other strands of the national curriculum, including numeracy and literacy, PSHE, attainment and enrichment programmes using the power of the professional football club and brand to engage young people.

The post holder will work closely with the Schools and Participation Officer to ensure the project evolves and to track progress. The post holder will also be responsible for developing the digital offer resources for Plymouth Argyle FC, liaising with key partners, managing partnerships, reporting internally and externally on programmes and supporting other aspects of the Community Trust.

The candidate must have a good in-depth knowledge of the school curriculum and school sport. Previous experience of delivering within a school environment is essential and delivering sports coaching in a wide range of settings, including schools, sports centres and in varied community work for young people aged 3- 14 years old is desirable. We would also expect the candidate to have a number of other sports coaching qualifications and be computer literate.

The post is full time and is offered on a 12 month fixed-term contract starting on 1st September 2017.
