Former Chairman Passes Away

We are saddened to hear of the passing of The Rev. Ken Trunks, aged 92.

Ken was our longest serving member having joined the Association in 1955 as the Divisional Representative for the Falmouth Area. In Cornwall FA's Centenary Year, 1989, Ken was the then Chairman of the Association. After losing his position as a Divisional Representative Ken was immediately elected as a 'life member' which was bestowed because of his lifetime dedication to football both here in Cornwall and in his native Somerset. Ken was a active referee in his early years and also served for a period as the elected President of the Falmouth Helston Football League.

David Bray, Cornwall FA's Vice-Chairman said,  "He was always a staunch supporter of both the County Senior and County Youth teams Ken rarely missed a fixture, both home and away. He will be sadly missed by those of us still involved at Cornwall FA, and I would, on behalf of all at Cornwall FA, pass on our deepest sympathy to his surviving family."

Ken's funeral is on Wednesday 20th March 2013 at 1.30pm at the Kernow Chapel Penmount followed by a Service of Thanks Giving in the United Reformed Church, Berkely Vale, Falmouth at 2.15pm. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu of Phoenix Stroke Unit Cornwall and Prostrate Cancer.
