Tax and The Football Coach

Football coaches have been reminded by HM Revenue and Customs [HMRC] that there is still time to voluntarily get their tax affairs up-to-date and should not miss this opportunity.

The FA has worked with HMRC to ensure football coaches have an opportunity to bring their affairs up to date. HMRC’s Campaign, called the  ‘Tax Catch Up Plan’, offered coaches who needed it a time limited voluntary disclosure opportunity (VDO) to bring their tax affairs up to date and pay what they owe. Whilst the deadline is up on the VDO, coaches have been advised there is still time to respond.
HMRC spokesperson Dr Marian Wilson said: “Although, the ‘Tax Catch Up Plan’ VDO offering coaches who needed an opportunity to bring their tax affairs up to date is closed, there is still help available for those who want to come forward and disclose anything on which  tax is owing.”
HMRC’s taxable income link below gives coaches information about what counts as earnings for tax purposes, to make it easy to decide whether they may have something to disclose, otherwise you can call the Campaigns Voluntary Disclosure Helpline on Tel 0845 601 5041 or use the tax disclosure link  below  for details about how to contact the dedicated helpline team.
