Welcome to the home page for the Cornwall FA Girls Advance Coaching Centre 2015/16 Season

For the current Season (2016-17), the South West will have its very own specific talent pathway for girls. The six Counties (Cornwall, Devon, Somerset, Gloucestershire, Dorset and Wiltshire) will all run for a third season an FA Girls' Advanced Coaching Centre (ACC). This is a programme designed to support the development of elite female players.

The Cornwall ACC is the highest level of football that girls can play in the County.

The Cornwall FA Girls' ACC will provide the opportunity for the most talented players to progress through the pathway to achieve their potential. For the elite players at the ACC, there will be the opportunity to go on and represent a South West Regional Excellence Camps on five specially designed residential weekends, with girls from the other five ACC's in the South West region. Here they will get the chance to play against Centre's of Excellence from around the Country.

Key info for an ACC

  • Programme is 29 weeks long (August-May)
  • 6 Fixtures, pre-arranged against all other SW Counties (see below).
  • Elite players at ACC have the opportunity to represent a South West Centre of Excellence on 5 fantastic residential weekends, providing progression through the female player pathway

Trials for 2016-17

If you would like to attend a trial during the season please complete the nomination form below and post or email back to; / Grace Dent, Kernow House, 15 Callywith Gate, Launceston Road, Bodmin, PL31 2RQ

Trials for new players will be offered via a 2 weeks training sessions trial, players will be asked to come into the center on 2 consecutive weeks and take part in regular training, feedback will be provided for all players who are either successful or unsuccessful.

When and where will the ACC train?

Friday evening's on the following;


*Block 1: 7 weeks - 26th August, 16th , 23rd , 30th  September, 7th , 14th  and 21st  October

*Block 2: 5 weeks - 11th , 18th , 25th November, 2nd , 9th December

*Block 3: 6 weeks - 6th , 13th , 20th , 27th January, 3rd , 10th February

*Block 4: 6 weeks - 24th February, 3rd , 10th , 17th ,24th, 31st March

*Block 5: 5 weeks – 21st , 28th  April, 5th, 12th , 19th May


U12’s – 6pm till 7-30pm

U14’s – 6pm till 7-30pm

U16’s- 7pm till 8-30pm

Training will take place at the fantastic facility at Brannel School which includes a Full sized 3G pitch, changing rooms and access to classrooms for theory sessions. 


We will play fixtures against the other five ACC's in the South West - Devon, Somerset, Gloucestershire, Dorset and Wiltshire. The games will be a mix of standard, triangular and festival games. Full Fixture information is as follows;

*Fixture 1- 31st August 2016 (Away- DORSET) - Regional Festival with all ACC's Competing

*Fixture 2- Thur 27th  October 2016 (Away- SOMERSET) - Regional Festival with all ACC's Competing

*Fixture 3- Tue 20th December 2016 (Away- DEVON) – Devon ACC on 3G Pitch

*Fixture 4- Wed 15th February 2016 (Away- DEVON) - Devon ACC

*Fixture 5- Wed 5th April 2016 (HOME- Newquay ) – Devon ACC

*Fixture 6- DATE TBC Vs Local Boys Teams


The Cornwall ACC will be made up of a group of 6 staff who have been involved in the female elite game for numerous years, racking up a huge amount of experience. We will have:

Our coaching staff consists of FA Level 2 and UEFA B's all having attended the FA Youth Award Modules (1, 2,).

We also work very closely with the FOOTBALL FUTURES Programme providing an opportunity for young volunteers to come into the center and gain valuable experience working with experienced coaches and talented players. Currently we have 3 students involved;

Age Development

The Cornwall FA Girls' ACC runs groups at U10’s,U12’s,U14’s and U16’s.

 The qualifying age for each squad is detailed below:

Under 10- School Year 4 or 5 (after 1st Sep 2016)

Under 12 - School Year 6 or 7 (after 1st Sep 2016)

Under 14 - School Year 8 or 9 (after 1st Sep 2016)

Under 16 - School Year 10 or 11 (after 1st Sep 2016)

South West Regional Excellence Camps

For those girls who show real elite potential, there FA run's a South West Regional Excellence Camp which takes place on 5 residential weekends throughout the season. This will be a fantastic opportunity for the top players from each ACC to join up and play fixtures against other Centre's of Excellence's across the country, which could include the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and Aston Villa. Cornwall ACC staff and coaches nominated players to attend the trial and we are delighted to have had 4 successful players accepted onto the Camp for the 16/17 Season. We are also very fortunate to have 2 members of our Coaching staff working at the centre, Tash Mills is the U14's Head Coach and Matt George is the Goalkeeping Coach.


The player fee for the season is £105. This is includes all training sessions and transport to away fixtures.
