WELCOME TO THE CORNWALL FA GIRLS' Emerging talent CENTRE

The Cornwall Girls' Emerging Talent Centre (formally Girls ACC) is a girls-only football development centre funded by the Premier League in line with the plans revealed to more than double the talent pool for the women's professional game. Previously named the Cornwall Girls' Advanced Coaching Centre, it provides talented female players throughout Cornwall and its surrounding areas with weekly additional training and fixtures, whilst still playing for their grassroots club.

The Emerging Talent Centre sits as part of the national Lionesses talent pathway with the ultimate aim of helping to produce players to play at international level.

Cornwall FA additionally deliver a Girls' Advanced Development Centre (ADC) which aims to support the development of U8, U9 and U10 girls. This offering reflects the ethos of the Cornwall ETC, with players being coached once a week to complement their current grassroots offering, with the opportunity to progress to the ETC at U12s.

The Girls' ETC will provide the opportunity for the most talented players to progress through the pathway to achieve their potential.

Trials will be completed at the start of each new season, with new and existing players having to trial. Following the trial period, the training groups will be finalised for the season. As the ETC age groups are limited to a certain number of players, the ETC can't offer trials during the season if squad sizes are at their limit. Information regarding trials will be shared via our communication channels at the start of each season.

With the Advanced Development Centre (ADC), trials may be available during the season. This is for U8, U9 and U10 girls.

If you would like to explore the opportunity to attend a trial please contact etc@cornwallfa.com

If you have any questions or would like any more information then please contact etc@cornwallfa.com

To be nominated for a trial we will need a club recommendation from a player's coach. We can also accept school nominations but players must be attached to a grassroots club to be able to join the centre. Unfortunately we are unable to accept parent nominations.

Please note, trials run at the start of each season.

England Football Plans Commencing in 2022/23

For the start of 2022/23, The FA unveiled plans to increase the number of girls participating in youth football and thus to create a more sustainable pathway for young talent in the Women's game. Part of these plans will see a wider national network of Girls’ Emerging Talent Centres for girls aged eight to 16, with funding provided by the Premier League. Over a two-year transition period, these will replace the FA Girls’ Advanced Coaching Centres forming a wide base at the entry point of the pathway.

The plans are based around five key areas that have been identified for improvement. These five areas of improvement that have been identified are as follows:

1. Better accessibility

2. More inclusivity

3. Reducing the impact of early selection

4. More focused investment

5. Providing more appropriate challenges

England Women's Talent Pathway

The pathway outlines a player's journey with England Women from U14 – Senior Level. The pathway provides age and stage-appropriate opportunities across these age groups.

The purpose of the pathway is to identify and prepare talented players as future senior England Lionesses, through the delivery of a holistic curriculum for England pathway teams (The Blueprint for Success.)

England Women’s Youth National Teams

Identified through the FA Women’s Talent ID strategy, players will represent England in single age bands from U15s through to U21s. For more information about the Women's Talent Pathway or the Youth National Teams, please click here.
