Cornwall FA are delighted to continue offering football opportunities for talented girls across the county through the delivery of the new Emerging Talent Centre. 

Previously delivered as a Cornwall Girls Advanced Coaching Centre, the new Girls Emerging Talent Centre (ETC) will offer girls aged U12 to U16 with the opportunity to receive high quality playing experiences through the delivery of an individualised training programme. Funded by the Premier League, the new ETC’s are introduced as part of the FA’s plans to sustain the future of the women's game and provide a wider and more diverse talent pool for the game.

The new centres will operate for at least 30 weeks per season and will commence from September 2022. The centres will be underpinned by five key areas: 

• Better accessibility
  
• More inclusivity
• Reducing the impact of early selection
  
• More focused investment
• Providing more appropriate challenges

The Cornwall Girls Emerging Talent Centre has now started with the following age groups operating across the ETC: U12s, U14s and U16s. Additional to this, Cornwall FA run a Girls Advanced Development Centre (ADC) for younger age groups, U8, U9 and U10s. 

Andrew Heapy (Cornwall FA Women's, Girls and Disability Officer) said, “We are delighted to be able to continue offering a high quality additional playing opportunity for talented girls across the county. The centre now aims to widen it’s reach to allow more girls the opportunity to receive additional playing experience alongside their grassroots commitments which is greatly received given the buzz around girls football following the recent success at the Women’s Euros. With the centre sitting as part of the England Lioness Talent Pathway, we hope that over the year’s to come more players will be able to transition through the centre and into the England Lioness National Teams, with Katie Robinson and Mari Ward being a recent examples of this and inspirations for local girls in Cornwall”.
