The Skilful Player P2 - October 14th

The Skilful Player coach development event returns for 22-23 season.

Join Cornwall FA and Plymouth Argyle on October 14th at Callywith College.

Cornwall FA are delighted to share the details of the next coach development event which will see ‘The Skilful Player’ event return to Callywith College on the 14th October working in partnership with Plymouth Argyle FC.

Last season, Plymouth Argyle delivered The Skilful Player coach development events at Callywith and Penryn College to provide over 100 local grassroots coaches with an opportunity to observe a range of coaching sessions put on by Argyle’s academy and first team staff. The events had a particular focus on the Pilgrim’s 8 core skills that they help players to develop within their academy programme.

For the 22/23 season, The Skilful Player Part 2 coach development event will see Argyle Head of Coaching Lee Hodge and U18’s Manager Darren Way deliver skill and games-based practices focusing on 2 of Argyle’s core skills. They will work with local youth Cornish players to demonstrate these core skills in practice and provide discussion points and key coaching insights during their delivery to help coaches understand how to develop the core skills within their club environments. This event will also provide opportunities to network with other local Cornish coaches.

This event will be the first of many events that will be delivered through the Cornwall FA Coach Development Programme over the 2022/23 season. As a county we will have several coach development events based across the East, Central and West of the County with the aim of reaching as many Cornish grassroots coaches as possible”.
