Cornwall FA were delighted to deliver this season’s first Stepping Over the Sidelines Workshop at Wadebridge Town FC.

As part of Cornwall FA’s Coach Development Programme, the first Stepping Over The Side-Lines Workshop was delivered at Wadebridge Town FC to support female coaches that are taking their first steps into coaching.

The workshop at Wadebridge FC provided the opportunity for volunteer coaches to discuss their coaching experiences as well as gain new insights and ideas to apply at their grassroots clubs. Additionally, those that are not currently coaching with the opportunity to network with other local coaches and gain vast insight knowledge before delivering.

The workshop also gave a flavour of the next steps for the coaches, this included:

• The EE Playmaker, by England Football course 
• Introduction to Coaching Football
• Being more involved at their local club, recreation session or Weetabix Wildcat’s venue, as a coach, assistant, helper, or volunteer.
• Local Coach Development opportunities 
• The launch of Cornwall FA Female Coaching Community 

Cornwall FA Women’s, Girls and Disability Officer Andrew Heapy led the evening and added, ‘It was great to see such great engagement from the volunteers that attended this seasons 1st Stepping Over the Sidelines workshop. To have so many new female coaches looking to start their coaching journey is amazing. With the impact from the Lionesses Euro’s victory these new coaches will add to the long-lasting legacy”.
