Katie Robinson BHA

#Femaleinthegame - Katie Robinson

Could you be the next Katie Robinson?

With nominations currently open for the Cornwall Girls Emerging Talent Centre (previously Girls ACC), Cornwall FA would like to shine a spotlight on Katie Robinson, a previous Girls ACC player and now professional player at Brighton Hove Albion!

Katie has come a long way since starting her football journey by playing grassroots youth football in Cornwall. Having developed her skills at the Cornwall Girls Advanced Coaching Centre (ACC), Katie utilised other opportunities such as playing in Plymouth Argyle Boys Centre of Excellence and England Youth training camps and fixtures to further her development, eventually leading to a professional contract at Bristol City. Following this first step into professional football, Katie continued to impress and represent England at Youth levels leading to a move to Brighton Hove Albion in the Women's Super League. Katie has also now gone on to represent England Women U23's.

Katie's story is an inspiration for girls across the county and Cornwall FA wish Katie all the best in the coming season.

Could you be the next Katie Robinson?

With the WEUROs currently underway, there's no reason why players can't dream to follow in Katie's footsteps. Nominations are currently open for the Cornwall Girls Emerging Talent Centre (U12, U14 and U16) and Advanced Development Centre (U8, U9 and U10) trials ahead of the 2022/23 season.

The Cornwall Girls Emerging Talent Centre (formally Girls ACC) is a Girls only football development centre funded by the Premier League in line with the plans revealed to more than double the talent pool for the women's professional game. Previously named the Cornwall Girls Advanced Coaching Centre, it provides talented female players throughout Cornwall and its surrounding areas with weekly additional training and fixtures, whilst still playing for their grassroots club.

The Emerging Talent Centre sits as part of the national Lionesses talent pathway with the ultimate aim of helping to produce players to play at international level.

Cornwall FA additionally deliver a Girls Advanced Development Centre (ADC) which aims to support the development of U8, U9 and U10 girls. This session reflects the ethos of the Cornwall ETC, with players being coached once a week to complement their current grassroots offering, with the opportunity to progress to the ETC at U12s.
