Cornish Clubs score £69,465 worth of funding through the Football Foundation’s Summer Survival Fund

Step 6 clubs who have been severely impacted by COVID-19 restrictions received funding from the Football Foundation.

As part of the Government's £600m Sport Survival Package, the Football Survival Package - Summer 2021 fund, provided through the Football Foundation, has been utilised by 15 Step 6 Cornish Clubs. The successful funding applications have provided £69,465 to further support the Step 6 clubs prepare for the upcoming 2021/22 season after being severely impacted by COVID-19 restrictions.

Following on from the successful Winter Football Foundation funding programme run earlier this year, the Summer Survival Package aims to provide additional support in response to each club's financial need to survive until the start of next season. The objective is to ensure football clubs survive the summer period and minimise the long-term damage to participation as they prepare for the 2021/22 season.

Daniel Greenough, Cornwall FA’s Football Development Manager said, “It is brilliant to see more and more of our clubs taking advantage of funding.  Clubs need to continue to keep their finger on the pulse to ensure they do not miss out on opportunities to support and develop their club.  Although this fund was targeting certain clubs and only for certain reasons it is great to see the response and up take.
