Referee Course

Cornwall FA support new referees after delivering 3 referee courses

Regardless of the level, all football needs a referee therefore the need to recruit and develop new and existing referees remains paramount. Cornwall FA’s Lee Swabey (Referee Development Officer) and Luke Wilkes (Referees Appointments Officer) have recently delivered 3 Referee courses to support and develop new volunteer referees.

Courses were delivered across the county with Saltash United FC, Wadebridge Town FC and St Day AFC hosting the courses. The referee courses provided an introduction for the new recruits around the laws of the game as well how to deal with different scenarios that may occur in a match.

Cornwall FA would like to thank Saltash United FC, Wadebridge Town FC and St Day AFC for the use of their facilities.

Lee Swabey (Cornwall FA’s Referee Development Officer) added, “it’s great to be able to support volunteers taking their first steps into refereeing. The course provides a fantastic overview and insight into refereeing and we will be working closely with the participants to support them through their refereeing journey”.
