Matt Cusack Awarded Cornwall FA Adult Coach of the Year 2020

This year’s successful winner of the Cornwall FA Adult Coach of the Year Award is Matt Cusack

Following a record number of nominations across all award categories, the Cornwall Football Association has now been able to start presenting winners with their awards as part of the Cornwall FA 2020 Grassroots Awards.

This year’s successful winner of the Cornwall FA Adult Coach of the Year award is Matt Cusack (formerly of Saltash United FC). During a recent presentation, Matt was presented with the award by Brian Baker (Cornwall FA Board Member) and had the following to say after receiving his award:

“To have been awarded Adult Coach of the Year for Grassroots 2019-2020 for Cornwall is one of my proudest moments to date on my coaching journey.

When I started out as manager at my former club Saltash United in the 2015/2016 season we had 6 players. What evolved over the 5 seasons was something special and we had built an environment that sought constant improvement and higher standards. This in turn led to great outcomes for the club securing multiple trophies in years to come. Central to this was a resounding focus on the coaching process and the belief that everybody can become better through dedicated work on the training ground. The players bought into the ethos, were a joy to work with and I can’t thank them enough as it is them that has made winning this award possible”.

Cornwall FA would like to congratulate Matt on winning the award and look forward to seeing any future coaching progress made this season and beyond.
