Wadebridge Town Enjoy Women's Football Weekend as Part of Record Attendance

THE WOMEN’S SUPER LEAGUE CROWD RECORD HAS BEEN SMASHED FOR THE SECOND TIME THIS SEASON

Cornwall FA affiliated club Wadebridge Town Ladies made the most of the recent Women’s Football Weekend by attending the North London Derby at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Wadebridge TownWadebridge weren’t in action at the weekend and used that to their advantage as they travelled to the capital to be part of a 38,262-strong crowd - a record attendance for a Women’s Super League game.

Tottenham fell to a 2-0 defeat to Arsenal on the day, but it was still a great occasion for Wadebridge Town Ladies and especially for Spurs fan Danielle, who said: “It was great; as a Spurs fan and it being my first visit to the stadium, I was in my element.”

Elsewhere during Women’s Football Weekend, there was plenty of brilliant women’s football on show in Cornwall, with our Women’s Cup Second Round fixtures taking place.

Callington Town Ladies and AFC St Austell stole the headlines with thumping 8-0 and 20-1 wins respectively, whilst Bude Town also reached the next round with a comprehensive 7-0 victory.
