Small Club Grant Scheme now OPEN
Cornwall FA will be running the “Small Clubs Grant Scheme” for a second season after the success of last years scheme.
The initiative aims to support clubs in the County that are not part of the National League system (Steps 7 and above) and therefore have significant challenges in providing funds for the general upkeep of their facilities. This will be a “do it yourself scheme” and we will invite applications for funding via the attached form.
Clubs must be affiliated to Cornwall FA and also have or be working towards Charter Standard Status within 6 months.
Cornwall FA is aware that a large number of our “small clubs” find difficulty in raising funds to improve/maintain their facilities and that any fundraising carried out is often restricted to their own membership/players providing such funds. Where Cornwall FA is satisfied that the need will assist clubs, a grant of up to a maximum of £500 per club is available. Should applications exceed the total amount available, applications will be assessed on merit and urgency in order to ensure the club keeps playing. Some applications, although successful, may be held back until further funds become available.
Small clubs should complete the attached application form and return it to us by Friday 1st March 2019.
A panel consisting of Board, Staff and Council members will then assess each claim.
Successful applicants will be notified by Friday 5th April 2019 via email so that work can be carried out before next season.
Clubs who receive a grant must provide receipts for the materials purchased and on completion forward them to the Cornwall FA before any funding is released, this must be completed by the Friday 30th August 2019.
Local Council members will be involved in visiting the ground to review the work carried out. Cornwall FA would like to maximise the opportunity for press coverage on the way any grant has been spent.
Some examples of what grant funding may be used for/towards:
Paint for re-decoration of club facilities
Purchase of new pitch marking machine
Purchase of new goal nets
General maintenance of the ground
Tea hut refurbishment
Improve dug outs
Club kitchen refurbishment
Purchase of club storage container
