Girls ACC Phase 2 trial overview image

120 players attend Girls ACC Trials

The Cornwall Girls ACC had a record number of players nominated for the trials this year with over 120 players attending across the two phases.

The trials took place on Thursday 19th and 26th July at Brannel School, St Stephen and were the most competitive we have ever seen with some fantastic talent on show. Our phase 1 trials (Thursday 19th July) saw 76 players from U10’s to U14’s come along; all phase 1 players were from local grassroots clubs with many never attending a trial before. The enthusiasm and attitude of the players towards the staff, activities and peers was brilliant with a number of players then invited back to phase 2 along with the current ACC players from this season.

Our phase 2 trials (Thursday 26th July) included all 4 of our age groups, U10, U12, U14 and U16’s with almost 90 players taking part on the night all aiming to be included in the 2018-19 season squads. It is a real credit to the volunteers in the female game around Cornwall to see the development of players over the last few years.  As a county FA it was a pleasure to welcome so many young players and see how much the overall standard has improved. This wouldn’t have been possible if it not for those coaches each week working with the players supporting them to reach their full potential.

The staff at the Girls ACC would like to congratulate all of the players who attended our trials, their coaches/ volunteers and also a big well done to those selected to be part of the programme for the coming season.
