Match - Cornwall FA Women’s Senior Representative Team v Leeds United Ladies

Date – Saturday 24th February

Venue – Trungle Park, Mousehole AFC

Kick Off 2:15pm

Entrance - £5 adult, U16 Free with a Paying adult

Cornwall FA were approached by Mousehole AFC and asked if we could provide opponents for the visit of Leeds United Ladies. The Cornwall FA Women’s Side has not played a match since 2015 when we entertained Yeovil Town as part of our 125th Anniversary celebrations and we are delighted to be invited to take part in this game, which is part of the Endorsed weekend celebration of Female Football. Through their contacts,  Jason Blunt, head of Mousehole Youth and Development and David Haigh, former managing director of Leeds United, arranged for Leeds United Ladies to visit Cornwall. Mousehole wanted the strongest opposition possible for the match and it is a real positive that they contacted Cornwall FA. Leeds United Ladies play at Step 3 of the Women’s Football Pyramid in the Northern Premier League, Premier Division and will provide a fantastic challenge for the Cornwall team.

The Cornwall team will be managed by Vicky Fisher and Beth Willshaw. All Female adult teams in Cornwall will be invited to nominate players and trial for the game. Details of this will be sent to all clubs shortly. Female football has received a big boost in recent months and whilst we are delighted to have been invited by Mousehole to provide the opposition for Leeds United, we hope to arrange additional fixtures for the Cornwall Women’s Representative squad as we continue to support the game.

Please be aware the surface at Brannel is 3G so players will need to ensure they have appropriate footwear

The trials and selection process will be overseen by the Cornwall Women’s management team of Vicky Fisher, Natasha Mills and Beth Willshaw.
