CWFL Long Service Referee Awards

Cornwall Women's Football League took the opportunity at their Cup Finals Day held on Sunday 18th May at Hayle FC to recognise two referees for their long service and support of Female Football in Cornwall.

David James and Neil Harvey, who were officiating at the Cup Finals, were surprised when they were presented with certificates in appreciation of 15 years service each to the CWFL.

The CWFL was established in 1998 and David James officiated the first ever fixture between Mousehole and Penryn in February 1999 (which Mousehole won by a 2-1 margin) and Neil Harvey refereed the second match which was held later the same day.

League Chair Mandy Kimmins presented the referees with their awards and commented, "Our league is very grateful to David James and Neil Harvey for their dedicated long service to female football in Cornwall. They were both part of the first fixtures ever played within the league and we are delighted to see them both here today still supporting female football 15 years on."
