Cornwall Youth in Mick Parry Final

Cornwall FA U18 Youth are through to the Final of the Mick Parry Trophy.

South West Counties Knockout Cup

Cornwall FA Youth played Devon FA Youth in the Semi Final tie of the 'Mick Parry Trophy' on Saturday 1st March 2014.

Result: Devon Youth 0  Cornwall Youth 1

Cornwalls' Under 18's are through to the final of the Mick Parry Trophy with a throughly deserved victory over their near neighbours at Coach Road, Newton Abbot on Saturday.

Cornwall took an early lead when Ryan Chinn from Penryn Athletic (who recieved his County Cap back in January, see news item) fired a 25 yard shot which left the Devon goalkeeper well beaten. Cornwall grew in confidence as the game wore on and turned on the style with superb passing and movement which left their opponents back paddling and defending desperately as the haft time approached.

The second half saw chances confined to a minimum and Cornwall became more and more content to hold onto their slender lead and eventually strolled into the final of the competition. Cornwall FA Youth last won this competition in its inaugural season in 1999/2000.

Pictures from the match will follow shortly.
