England v Chile Flag Bearers

Friday 15th November saw 5 excitable children travel to Wembley to be Flag Bearers for the England v Chile match.

Illogan JFC The Chance Of A Lifetime

What a great day and experience had by all, including some very excited parents!

On Friday 15th November, 5 children from Illogan JFC had the chance of a life time to be Flag Bearers for the England v Chile friendly match at Wembley. Brandon Congdon, Declan Kinsman, Molly Rowe, Kien Adams and Katie Brown represented Cornwall FA at Wembley.

Not only did they get the chance to watch England play, they also got to lead England out onto the pitch in front of almost 70000 screaming fans. The only downside to the evening came with England  losing the game 2-0.

All of the children received VIP treatment for the day; getting to sit in the dugout watching the England squad warming up, having great seats for the game, getting to keep the Black Nike tracksuits worn for the Flag Bearing duty, a Match Programme and a Goodie Bag  to top it all off!

Everyone had a fantastic day out, although a very long trip, to and from Cornwall , getting home at 5am it was well worth it .  Very proud parents living the dream to watch their children step out onto the pitch at Wembley........with the match being televised live family and friends at home were able to watch and record it, really making the children's' day!

As a parent I would like to say, on behalf of the children and parents, a big Thank You to the FA at Wembley and our local Cornwall FA Representatives Dawn Aberdeen and Phil Cardew for looking after and supporting the children with this fabulous opportunity.  The whole day ran smoothly, with great organisation and communication, this made the once in lifetime experience for everyone even more memorable.  Thank you from all that took part, and a chance to put Illogan JFC on the map.
