For the season 2018-19 clubs will need to purchase Personal Accident and Legal Liabilities insurance in order to affiliate to Cornwall County FA.
For Season 2018/19, clubs will be able to affiliate through the Whole Game System, The FA’s new IT platform. Clubs will need to purchase Personal Accident and Legal Liability insurance before affiliation can be completed. In Cornwall this ruling has been extended to also apply to all youth teams. Public Liability insurance is mandatory and all clubs should carry a limit of indemnity of no less than £10,000,000 any one occurrence.

Personal Accident insurance is available for adult and youth teams and protects players, committee members, managers, trainers and assistant referees/officials in the event of an accident arising from football activities.

For Adult 11-a-side teams, personal accident insurance is mandatory and “Superior 30” is the minimum level of cover required by Cornwall Football Association. Personal Accident insurance for Youth teams is also mandatory, and the minimum level of cover is “Basic”.

How do I purchase cover for my teams?
Clubs can purchase/renew their Personal Accident insurance through the National Game Insurance Scheme website: www.bluefinsport.co.uk/cornwall

If you purchase your cover online, you will be able to download your policy documents from Bluefin Sport’s website. You should save the pdf attachment to your computer - you will also receive an email attaching your policy documents. Included within the policy documents pack is a poster which can be displayed at your clubs premises so players are aware of the cover in place.
When you affiliate through Whole Game System, you will need to provide evidence of personal accident insurance for Adult 11-a-side teams and Youth teams. You will be prompted to upload your clubs personal accident policy documents through Whole Game System, which you can do from your computer as you will have saved the policy documents in PDF format when you purchased your insurance. Please note that checks will be made to ensure that you have purchased the correct cover and that cover is in force for the whole of Season 2018/19.
Legal Liabilities (including Public Liability)
The Countycover/Countycover Plus scheme is available to affiliated clubs, leagues and match officials affiliated to the Association. Cover is arranged by the association as a group policy, so premiums are more affordable. This allows you to purchase the cover at a much cheaper premium, whilst you also benefit from the wider cover of a policy that has been designed specifically with grassroots football in mind.

For Countycover Plus, the premium is £42 per club
For Countycover, the premium is £20 per club
Countycover and Countycover Plus automatically include cover for Legal Defence costs up to £100,000, in respect of a Player-to-Player claim, subject to acceptance by the insurers, however, only Countycover Plus covers Player-to-Player awards up to £10,000,000.
- Please note that the Countycover products are only available to clubs and teams participating at steps 5 and below. If your club or one of its teams plays at Step 4 and above, please contact Bluefin Sport as they can provide a separate quotation.
- Cover is not provided for the operation of a licensed premises. This element of cover is usually provided under a commercial combined insurance policy. Please contact Bluefin Sport for a separate quotation.
How do I purchase cover?
Cover is purchased through the Whole Game System when you affiliate to Cornwall Football Association. The insurance premium should be paid through the Whole Game System or to Cornwall FA together with your affiliation fees.
The Whole Game System will record your purchase and Cornwall Football Association will send your Evidence of Cover to you once payment has been received and your application has been accepted.
