Cornwall Coaches Academy

Coaches Academy

Cornwall FA is pleased to introduce our NEW COACHES ACADEMY, the aim of our new project is to honour and recognise those coaches who have committed to a learning journey in terms of their own personal development by inviting them to join the Cornwall FA Coaches Academy. The Coaches Academy is not only designed to recognise its members, it also offers access to a community designed to support, share ideas and best practice as well as identify coaches who may support other coach development through exemplar practices and by offering opportunities for coaches to view Cornwall’s best practitioners coaching in situ.  The Academy will be made up of a mix of FA full time staff, FA Coach Mentors, FA Tutors, Skills Team Members as well as experienced and newly qualified members of the Cornish Coaching Community. The Coaches Academy will offer a two tiered approach:

Tier TWO is for coaches who are currently coaching in Cornwall and who have achieved the following criteria:

  • Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Football
  • FAYA Module 1
  • FAYA Module 2

Members of Tier two of the Coach’s Academy will have their names listed on the Cornwall FA website in recognition of having achieved the above criteria.

Tier ONE is for coaches who are currently coaching in Cornwall and who have achieved the following criteria:

Coaches Hall of Fame

What is the Hall of Fame? Here in Cornwall we have lots of coaches that have achieved fantastic things in grassroots football, the Hall of Fame is here to recognise the coaches and managers who are deemed to have made a significant contribution to Cornish football but who are no longer currently active in coaching or managing. Candidates must have achieved a minimum of a Level 1 Certificate in Coaching football or equivalent and can be nominated by an individual or club in Cornwall. Once nominated candidate suitability will be considered by Cornwall FA and successful candidates will be offered a place on the Cornwall FA “Hall of Fame” honours board which can be accessed via the CFA website. It may include coaches and managers who may have moved on to greater achievements out of county.

If you think you know someone who should be in the Hall of Fame please feel free to nominate them, the 'Hall of Fame' nomination form can be found in the download section below.

 Coach of the Month

In addition to the above Cornwall FA would like to recognise all levels of participation and achievement by coaches in Cornwall. With this in mind a new award is being launched which will recognise a range of coaches who have a variety of experiences, backgrounds and qualifications. Candidates will be nominated in a number of ways, from internal nomination through a club, long service or commitment or via the Cornwall FA network of staff and members.

Each month a coach will be chosen and receive a prize and award presented to them from Cornwall FA.
