Teams from all over Cornwall and beyond gathered in Newquay recently for this year’s Mini-Soccer Festival.
The ages ranged from mixed groups from under-7 through to under-10 age groups and girls teams at under-10 and under-12.
One of the most popular extra attractions was the coaching zone where national FA Tesco skills coaches demonstrated all the latest equipment and training plans. Many of the young players and their managers were very enthusiastic about it.
Every player in the Festival was presented with a participation certificate and medal. Phil Cardew, Cornwall FA’s Football Development Officer, said, “The day was a great success with all the games played in the right spirit. Fair play and sportsmanship were very much in evidence which is the whole ethos behind the Charter Standard Club Award.”
